    Event Description:
    NORTHWEST LIGHTED CHRISTMAS (DRIVE-BY) PARADE
    SATURDAY DECEMBER 5, 2020; 5 P.M. TO 8 P.M. 
     
    Presented by Edaleen Dairy, with additional support from North Pacific Concrete Pumping, inc., Puget Sound Energy, Lynden, Inc., Muljat Group North Real Estate, the City of Lynden, and many residents of the Lynden community whose contributions, large and small, made this even possible! 

    REGISTERED LIGHTED PARADE ENTRIES: 
    Front Street from 3rd St. to 17th St. will be closed beginning at 3:00 p.m. to allow for clearing of non-parade vehicles for staging of Lighted Parade entries. 
    REGISTERED LIGHTED ENTRIES PLEASE ARRIVE BETWEEN 3:30 AND 4:30 P.M.
    * ENTER THE STAGING ROUTE AT 3RD ST. AND FRONT ST., HEADING WESTBOUND 
    * WE WILL BE PARKING LIGHTED UNITS ON THE NORTH SIDE OF FRONT ST., IN THE NORTH PARKING STRIPALONG THE CURB
    * LOOK FOR STAGERS IN THE GREEN HI-VIS VESTS OR JACKETS. THEY WILL GIVE INSTRUCTIONS ON WHERE TO PROCEED AND ASSIST IN PARKING.


    SPECTATORS IN VEHICLES: 
    * Front St. from 19th St. to 17th Street will be closed to eastbound traffic beginning at 5:00 p.m to allow for spectator staging, creating an area for potential traffic back-ups. PLEASE, be patient with other spectators and parade staff. This is our first experiment with this type of drive-by viewing experience. 
    * WE ARE ASKING THAT SPECATORS PLEASE ENTER FRONT ST. AT THE 19TH St. AND FRONT ST. INTERSECTION ONLY!
    PLEASE DO NOT create traffic back-ups on 17th St., or attempt to enter mid-parade route. 
    We need to keep lanes as clear as possible for emergency services responding to calls. 
    * SPECTATOR VEHICLES WILL REMAIN IN THE EASTBOUND TRAFFIC LANEFOR THE ENTIRETY OF THE PARADE ROUTE 
    * Spectator vehicles will exit the parade route at 3rd St., with the option of continuing east, or turning north towards Grover.

    BOY SCOUT TROOP #4028 DONATION DROP OFF: Boy Scout Troop #4028 is seeking donations, to share with numerous Whatcom County non-profit agencies who assist those in need. Donations sought are cold weather clothing for all ages, sleeping bags, fresh or frozen meat, baby needs such as diapers, formula, food, etc., unwrapped toys for gifts, as well as cash donations. 
    THE DROP OFF POINT WILL BE THE FIRST ENTRY AFTER ENTERING THE DRIVE-BY ROUTE:  Please pull into the area they direct you to, should you need to, for unloading donations.

    Location:

    The Spectator Vehicle Route will run along Front Street, from east to west. Vehicles will enter a staging area, to avoid backing up numerous streets, at 19th and Front, beginning at 5 p.m.

    Vehicles will remain in the eastbound traffic lane for the duration of the drive. 

    Those interested in walking the route will have access to the public sidewalks, and are encouraged to be alert, and to keep personal safety top of mind.  

    Please visit the many wonderful retail businesses and restaurants of Lynden before you enjoy the festive sights and sounds of the Holiday, for it is their year-round support that makes these events possible.
