We have six exhibits opening, showcasing the talents of area photographers, painters and ceramics artists. In our Fine Arts Gallery, we welcome watercolor artist Peggy Woods in her exhibit, Along Water’s Edge, featuring nature-inspired paintings. Photographer Norman E. Riley will be sharing 18 images created during his residency at Glacier NAtional Park, on exhibit in the Library Workshop. In a Duo Exhibition, Organic Shape and Perception, painters Ria Harboe and Nancy Canyon bring their colorful artwork to the Chamber Hall Gallery. The 2018 Summer Juried Exhibit will feature the artwork of numerous artists from around the region and will be in display throughout the Jansen Art Center. For the 6th year, the Ceramics Studio hosts the Annual Cup Show, in which artists use the idea of a cup to create artwork for this challenge. Guests at the Opening Reception will be able to vote for their favorite cups for the People’s Choice Awards. Awards will be presented at 7:45 in the Piano Lounge. Our sixth summer exhibit is on display at The Inn at Lynden (100 5th Street) just down the street from the Jansen Art Center. This summer’s exhibit features Paintings and Prints by Gene Jaress. The artist will be at The Inn at Lynden to welcome visitors. Throughout the evening, musicians Darla Bradshaw Lobb and Walt Burkett will be performing in the Piano Lounge. The Firehall Cafe and Gallery Shop will remain open throughout the event.
