Name: Poetry for Lunch with Deborah Bassett and Carole Bromley, Still Time - VIRTUAL
    Date: April 1, 2022
    Time: 12:00 PM - 1:00 PM PDT
    Event Description:
The poems in Still Time explore themes of childhood nostalgia, loss and grief, pandemic life, and finding those moments of peace and tranquility that buoy us above it all. The poems are deeply personal, inspired by the poet’s own lived experiences, particularly the birth of her son and the loss of her father. Many of the poems were written during the Covid-19 lockdown of 2020 and reflect the uncertainty and self-reflection that marked that time period. Deborah Bassett is a poet, artist and musician who spent many years in the Pacific Northwest. She lives in Pensacola, FL. Still Time is her first collection of poetry. Carole Bromley lives in York, UK. She is a poet writing for both adults and children and has four collections: A Guided Tour of the Ice House, The Stonegate Devil, Blast Off (for children),and Sheffield and The Peregrine Falcons of York Minster. Carole has won a number of prizes for her poetry, including the Bridport Prize and the Hamish Canham Award. She runs poetry surgeries via Zoom for The Poetry Society.
